STANDSTILL Transfer Film

The STANDSTILL Transfer Film was developed to take tattoo stencils to a new professional level.
It allows you to transfer your design to the skin with millimeter precision and absolute cleanliness – without slipping, smudging, or unclear lines.
It impresses not only with its perfect functionality, but above all with maximum safety and material transparency.

No Plastic

According to the manufacturer, the STANDSTILL Transfer Film is not made of plastic, but of high-quality polyvinyl alcohol (PVA).
This material is used in medical applications – for example, in wound dressings, surgical bandages, or soluble drug carriers.
According to the EU Chemicals Agency, PVA is not considered microplastic because it dissolves completely in water and leaves no solid plastic particles behind.

This means: The film may look like a foil, but it is not a plastic film.
During tattooing, it is broken down by the needle movement and skin moisture even before it can penetrate deeper skin layers.
After the work is done, the film can be easily removed with green soap or distilled water – residue-free, clean, and safe.

Why this is important

• No residue in the skin: The water-soluble PVA material dissolves completely and therefore cannot remain in the skin.

• Medically tested: The material is already used in sensitive medical applications.

• No microplastics: PVA is biodegradable, vegan, and, according to the manufacturer, ECHA compliant.

• Hygienic & skin-friendly: Developed for direct skin contact, dermatologically safe.

This makes the STANDSTILL Film a modern alternative to classic plastic films or thermal papers.

Application (manufacturer's recommendation)

1. Create your design digitally and print it directly onto the STANDSTILL Transfer Film using an inkjet printer.

2. Cut out the design and use the STANDSTILL Adhesive Spray.

3. Place the film on the skin and position it precisely. The film is easily repositionable until everything is perfectly aligned.

4. Tattoo directly over the film – the needle penetrates cleanly, and the material splits apart.

5. After the line work, wash the film off with green soap or distilled water.

6. After that, you can continue working as usual.

The manufacturer particularly recommends the film for line work, dotwork, and fine designs.
For large-area color work or heavy color packing, the film should be removed after the outline.

• To achieve the best results, STANDSTILL recommends not starting with a deep black shade, but rather working with a lighter to medium black.
You can slightly increase the voltage if the machine feels a little softer at first.
It's best to practice dotwork first to understand how the film behaves, and then move on to line work once you are familiar with the feel.
