Septum nose piercing – a classic that is very much in vogue

Septum Nasen-Piercing

Well known and now extremely popular, the septum piercing is a real eye-catcher and no longer associated solely with the old roots of the characteristic look of the punk and grunge scene. On the contrary – what used to stand for strength, initiative, and provocation is now also a glamorous trendsetter and is repeatedly showcased by famous stars, whether as a permanent or flexible fake version. Today, septum body jewelry is considered an authentic styling factor and is increasingly becoming one of the most popular beauty accessories. Whether you like it flashy or subtle, pierced body jewelry has been around for hundreds of years and has been called piercing since the 1990s. Jewelry in the septum area plays a major role, is represented worldwide, and has been worn for centuries in tribes in Africa, Asia, and America. Thus, cultural and modern elements are combined, making a whole new statement in the fashion world.

Which septum piercing is right for me?

For beginners, there are two options to start with: you can go to a reputable piercer in your area and have it pierced under hygienic conditions, or you can choose the second and equally practical and popular option – the fake septum. There is an almost equally wide selection of materials, shapes, and colors, as well as crystal-embellished versions. Fake body jewelry gives you the opportunity to try it out and see if you really like the nose jewelry in the long run. However, those who love authenticity will gladly accept the piercing process. Most people describe the piercing through the thin connective tissue, called the columella, below the nasal septum cartilage as less of a severe pain and more of a "strange" feeling. Piercing the so-called "sweet spot" can trigger a feeling of needing to sneeze. The size and shape of the jewelry should match the anatomical shape of the nose. For example, the curvature of the nasal septum or the size of the nose in general can also play a role. Women usually choose more subtle jewelry, which attracts attention with crystals, interesting shapes, or materials and merely emphasizes the facial features. For men, the septum jewelry should not be too small in order to maintain a masculine look.

However, oversized and extravagant models, which originate from the body modification scene, are also becoming increasingly popular. Here, too, our online piercing shop offers many options to stand out from the crowd. There are almost no limits to individuality, and the courage to realize it is increasingly accepted or even highly desirable.

What materials can be used for nose jewelry?

As a competent piercing wholesaler, Murostar offers you an incredibly large selection of nose piercing jewelry as well as customer-friendly, personal advice and the best service in order processing. Choose from a variety of materials:
- Steel septum piercing in silver
- Gold steel septum piercing
- Black steel septum piercing
- Rose gold steel septum piercing
- Rainbow steel septum piercing
- Titanium septum piercing in silver
- Titanium septum piercing in gold
- Black titanium septum piercing
- Titanium septum piercing in rose gold
- Titanium septum piercing in rainbow
- Acrylic septum piercing in various colors
- Brass septum piercing in various colors

For optimal ease of use, we recommend our segment ring clickers! There is no need to struggle to remove the segment, which means you don't need ring opening pliers or any additional tools. They are easily lifted up at the hinge, inserted into the piercing channel, and clicked back into place. This not only saves you from having to use piercing tools, but also saves you a lot of time and guarantees pain-free insertion.

Septum piercing – treatment and aftercare should not be underestimated

Septum Piercing

If you want quick healing, you should follow these care instructions:
- Touching should be avoided as much as possible so as not to delay the healing process.
- Hygiene is essential for aftercare and indispensable whenever the piercing is touched. If this is unavoidable, always wash your hands beforehand or, if available, disinfect them with a hand sanitizer.
- Saline solution is ideal for supporting the healing process and can be used several times a day, depending on the degree of crusting.
- Products containing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, iodine, or triclosan should not be used.
- Furthermore, care should be taken when changing clothes daily so that there is no excessive pulling or twisting of the fresh piercing.
- Ideally, swimming pools, saunas, solariums, lakes, and even your bathtub at home should be avoided during the initial healing phase.

Septum piercing—What costs can I expect and how long will the healing process take?

The cost, including jewelry, can range from approximately $40 to $85. The price depends, of course, on the studio and the materials used. Titanium is generally recommended for the first piercing, but steel can also be used. Those who wish to invest in high-quality piercing jewelry can also opt for real gold. The total healing time is approximately 6-8 months, and changing the piercing during the first 3-4 months is strongly discouraged. The pain may have subsided significantly or completely, but the healing process may not yet be complete. With the right care, you can shorten the initial, somewhat strenuous healing period. Use saline solution 2-3 times a day or a piercing spray specially developed for healing piercing jewelry, and you will quickly achieve the desired result and finally be able to change your piercing freely to match your outfit.
